CertainTeed Integrity Roofing System Process

Step 1

First we take extra care of your property by protecting your homes exterior utilizing the Catch-All netting system, using rubber wheel dumpsters on your driveway, and netting on your garden plants.

Step 2

All wood modifications for roof ventilation start now, including cutting out squares for cans, openings at peaks for ridge vents and, if smart venting is needed, a channel is cut approximately 3 shingles' distance from the edge.

Step 3

Winterguard Ice and Water Shield goes in all valleys, 6 ft from the edge of the roof, and around all stink pipes. This delivers protection against water intrusion from ice dam buildups, weather, and aging.

Step 4

We use RoofRunner, a synthetic, polymer-based scrim-reinforced underlayment. That means one thing—advanced protection against water intrusion, as each nail is sealed as it penetrates the surface

Step 5

All the while, roof edges have an extra wide drip edge and starter strips installed as an additional protection at a roof's most vulnerable point. Chimneys and walls get custom bent metal flashing and a silicone sealant.

Step 6

Next, we install rows of special starter shingles on the most wind-vulnerable areas of the roof—these shingles are designed to mitigate the force of heavy winds for the rest of the roof.

Step 7

The CertainTeed Landmark Pro shingles get installed, delivering protection against algae buildup, heat transfer, and aging. All necessary venting components get installed while shingles get nailed down, and it all finishes with a true ridge cap shingle topped by silicone sealant.

Step 8

We complete an exhaustive cleanup of your property and make sure you’re satisfied with your brand new CertainTeed roof.

We are extremely happy with L&S for our new gutters. Especially the help of Tony- who was personable, responsive, available, and extremely knowledgeable. They go above and beyond the legal requirements which is a MUST for Michigan winters. Our previous gutters basically lost the war against the ice and snow of winter. When I felt the difference of the material used previously and what L&S used it wasn't even comparable. L&S uses material that are custom made, strong and durable. They stand by their work and their products and I feel much more comfortable about going into the winter season. They were also very easy to communicate with and schedule- not to mention CLEAN. When we had previous work by another company we found nails in our yard (with toddlers) for two years. After L&S left- I didn't see a single piece of remnants of any work. Outside of the amazing new gutters- you would have never know they were there. THANK YOU TONY! If we ever need work- we will be reaching out.

Recently L&S Home Improvements installed a new roof for me. Ryan Moulding, Sales Rep., came to my home to give me a free estimate and explained step by step what he had to offer. He showed me samples of all the materials used on the roof and there was a wide variety of shingle colors from which to choose. Ryan answered all of the questions I had. He also explained what their crew would do when arriving to do the work. The crew arrived on time and I was told what they were going to do. My landscaping was covered plus other areas and then they proceeded to do the roof. Once finished, they cleaned up everything, and before leaving, I was asked if I had any questions. I am thoroughly satisfied with L&S, and definitely would recommend this company. I do not recommend any company that I would not use myself.Excellent! Excellent! If I could give 10 stars, I would!

We recently replaced our roof and our gutters. The salesman who came out was very professional and super helpful in explaining all the different options and what they meant. He was extremely kind and understanding especially when dealing with the interruptions from our two youngsters! When the actual work was completed, it was done quickly and all the men were professional. They did a fantastic job cleaning up the yard after which was something we were worried about because of our dog and children. There was no reason to worry at all!

Great experience from beginning to end. After waking up to a leaking ceiling, I called this company. They came out promptly and sealed the leak until they could do a total tear off and replace my roof. They were quick and efficient . They reassured me of any concern I had. My 91 year old father needed to have his 20+ year old roof replaced. It was long overdue. My wife (Commercial property manager) stepped in to handle the selection/bidding process on his behalf. She got bids from four companies. Tony Combs from L&S Home Improvement was the first to respond (almost immediately after she requested a quote) and L&S had the best pricing and offered a superior product than their competitors. Tony Combs explained every detail of the process to ensure my Dad completely understood what he was paying for. For the record, the house was purchased in 1959 for $23,000 and it was shocking to him to comprehend what building materials and labor was going to cost in 2024 dollars. His concerns were addressed and his questions were answered completely by Tony who was BEYOND terrific in his patience and care. The materials were delivered on schedule without issue. The crew arrived early on install day and carefully placed tarps around the house to catch debris. The existing shingles were removed and the new roof was completely installed in ONE day. The crew ,workmanship and cleanup was also excellent. L&S offers the ability to finance your home improvement project, if that’s desired, through a couple different lenders. A new roof is expensive. Choosing the right company that does a great job and stands behind their product will give a homeowner the satisfaction and peace of mind for many, many years. L&S should be your first call when you need a new roof or a siding upgrade.

We researched and talked with several companies at the April 2024 Novi Home and Garden Show. L&S was the only company we made an appointment with for an inspection. We were convinced we wouldn’t go under contract right away in order to meet with other companies and were upfront with Ryan about this when he arrived. We were wrong. We were very impressed with his thoroughness, his patience and answers to our questions, his presentation, and last but not least, the price and value for the price. We are so glad that made the plunge. Both Ryan and the office were communicative and responsive throughout the process. And the crews, both roofing and gutters, were amazing. They were friendly, checked with us frequently and answered all questions throughout the process. They did a fantastic job and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our house now stands out on the block. We love our new roof and gutters and wouldn’t hesitate to use or recommend L&S again.

We went to Novi home show where we met Ryan, representative for L&S,he was very friendly and even though we only needed gutters for our small ranch house, he was happy to come out and suggest what was best for our house. We knew we chose the right company when I saw them laying out plywood and a tarp to protect our hot tub during our roof installation. Afterwards they ran a magnet through the grass to find any other nails and raked up any debris. We had gutters installed as well and I couldn't believe how quick and quiet the crew were.There's definitely cheaper roofing companies out there, but if you want to know you're home is protected for the long run, this is the team to hire. They offer a 25 year guarantee too to have someone come out if there are any concerns at all.

Beginning with the day I called for an estimate to have siding installed this company's communication was top notch! Once we signed the contract, I received a welcome to the family call, the next steps in the process and when the installation should start. Upon completion, one of the owners came out and did a detailed inspection of the job, made sure that we were 100% happy and told me that should a problem arise to not hesitate and give them a call.The workers showed up early, were very respectful of our property, cleaned up afterwards and were great to talk to whenever I had a question. Workmanship was also top notch with attention to detail.This company is the real deal. They may not be the cheapest price you will find but there is truth to the saying "you get what you pay for". No corners were cut and everything that was stated before the job was delivered. I wish I would have called them when we had a roof put on last year. We paid top dollar for the job and workmanship, communication before and after was not even in the same ballpark as L&S Home Improvement. I highly recommend this company!UPDATEHad an issue with a light fixture that was coming lose and called to report this and someone was out to fix it the same week. Simple and quick!UPDATEHad an issue with an aluminum strip that loosened up due to heavy winds. Called to report the issue and the next business day they came out to repair it. I met with several contractors and no other company was like L&S. A raccoon got into my roof and caused extensive damage plus it was time to replace the roof anyway.Jacob has excellent customer service skills and was very thorough with his inspection. Throughout the entire process the company effectively communicated with me about my project.The crew did a wonderful job with my new roof, soffit fascia, and gutter replacement. The cleanup was impeccable and the cost of the project was affordable. It gave my home the initial uplift it needed. I think it looks amazing.
